RIVERTON MEETING
FIELDS ABOVE AVERAGE
Fields for all events on the opening day o£ the Rivcrton Racing Club's Annual Meeting are large, and, although it is practically certain that no division will now be required in cither the Rivcrton Gold Cup or the Visitors' Hack Handicap, there is still a possibility of kucli being called in the Loiigu'ood Hack Handicap, which has an acceptance of" six above the safety margin. Added interest to the racing is the presence of the two Trentham horses, Habit and Arikinui, at Iho meeting. The field for the Riverton Gold Cup is
probably tho strongest thai; has contested a race in the far south for many yearn, and.atone time it looked as it' a division would be necessary. Black Duke, Royal Saxon, and Charmuinc arc others among the tnpweighls who have decided prospects. The issue may not be couiine'd to them, however, for Night, Maid, Cilcnrowiin, and Speed Light arc all ciipithle of registering first-class clforts, and if they move away well they may not be easy to catch in mich a big field.
