CIVIC ELECTIONS

The following candidates will probably represent the Labour Party at tho forthcoming municipal elections in I Petone:—Messrs. J. Ashby, E. A. Campbell, J. Cummi'ng, W. H. Edwards, J. Huggins. and A. Scholefield. The Mayoral position will not be contested by the Labour Party. Mr. Peter Bobertson will not seek re-election to the Mayoralty of Uppor Hutt. Of the present council, Councillor W. Greig will contest the Mayoralty. Councillor •J. O. Duff, for family • reasons, will not seek re-election. Councillor Co ttle states that ho will not be a candidate, and Councillor Spearman states that, at present, he does not intend to seek re-election. All tho other councillors will stand for election.
