'The Vital statistics for the month ended to-day were as follows, the figures for the corresponding period of last year being given for- comparative purposes:— ■ ' March, March, • 1931 1930 Births. 133 130 ■ Deaths ■ 77 • 61 ' ' Marriages 105 60 The figures for the quarter ended 31st March were as follows: — Births 383 • 390 Deaths ....: 205 202 Marriages .• 197 . 169 ■ PALMERSTON N.,.315t March. During the month of March there were 66 births. 27 deaths, and 35 marriages in. the city, compared with 58 births, 27 deaths, and. 22 iriarriages for the same month of 1930. . ■ The figures for tho quarter ended to-day are as follows:— ' ' '.-.■' . 1931- ' 1930 .Births 154 145 Deaths, '..... 66 .57 Marriages 84 56 Twenty-three marriages were performed by the registrar during the quarter, compared with 17 .last year.
