MESSAGE IN SYDNEY

SYDNEY, This Day.

Mr. J. A. Lyons-spent yesterday in Sydney conferring with the leaders of tho political parties and ■ prominent public men and women and business people, ,all of whom expressed cordial approval of his appeal for a united Commonwealth, published yostorday.

Mr. Lyons received hearty assurances of co-operation in any movement ho may launch along tho lines of his message to tho people. Mr. Lyons, in a final message to the people of Now South Wales, said: —

Tell them that, just as I have broken the association of a lifetime and abandoned party for country, so they, too, must act if they truly and sincerely desire to serve Australia effectively in its hour of greatest need.

He added that unity had been accomplished in Victoria, South Australia) and Tasmania, bat still awaited accomplishment here* He expressed confidence that Now South Wales woulS cooperate in the move made by other States and sink party, differences.,
