Mr. Scultin's decision to prevent NewSouth Wales defaulting is featured in all tho evening papers. Tho "Standard" carries a great bannerline, "Australia has Decided to Pay." ,
The Stock Exchango reacted favourably, Commonwealth fives sharply advancing with a general increase of 5 per cent. *
In the House of Commons Mr. .T. H. Thomas, Dominion Secretary, amidst general ■ cheers, announced that the Commonwealth would provide interest for the payment of the loans which New South Wales had declined to do.
