The Prime Minister, Mr. Ramsay Mac Donald, and other members of the Cabinet visited the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr. Philip Snowden, and discussed the Budget with him. The "Daily Herald" predicts '- a deficit of £25,000,0,00, but the National Debt actually has been reduced during the year by £30,000,000. Moreover, £10,000,000 of the deficit is due lo excess payments to the sinking fund, and as many millions have been saved on interest charges as a result of cheaper borrowing.' Such savings will go lo the reduction of the debt.

Additional income tax is unlikely lo be levied.
