RUGBY, 26th March,

Important decisions removing tho threat of serious disputes and, possibly, early stoppages in two industries were reached to-day. The National Joint Council for the building industry agreed to suspend for six months notice to terminate the existing agreement, thus allowing time for the unions to consult their members on tho terms of the new draft agreement. The conference of the National Union of Riuhvaymen decided to accept the award of "the National Wages Board, which involves a deduction of "i per cent, from wages up to &" a week, and a further -I per cent. 011 carings in excess of &2, no deduction to exceed Cs. The award has already been accepted by two other railway unions.
