CITY COUNCIL MATCH
The annual match between the City Councillors, ox-councillors, and the council staff took place yesterday afternoon, and proved a most enjoyable function. Afternoon tea was provided by the^ ■wife and daughters o£ the president oi the Wellington Club, Councillor W, H. Bennett. Votes of thanks were passed to the Wellington Club and the ladies • for their entertainment. The scores were (councillors mentioned first): — Gaudin, 0. M. Luke, Stone, B. . (J. H. Burn (s), 30; C. T. Bell, I<\ N. Thompson, K. K. Luke, Casey (s), 27. Forsyth, Huggins,'Norwood, Meadowcroft (s), 37; Nome, Cable, M'C'unc, Peterson (s), S. Shorland, J. Burns, Hildreth, W. 11. Bennett (s), 24; Crceke, Herron, Butt, M'Coll (s), 21. The councillors won. by two games to on,e and by 21 points on the aggregate.
