CABLE FOUND CUT

DISTINCT SAWMARKS

REWARD OFFERED

(Beceived 27th March, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, 26th March. While messages were being transmitted, one of the Commercial Cable Company's cables suddenly became dead. The break was located in the Bristol Channel, and a repair ship picked up the severed, ends with a grappler. There is every evidence that the line was intentionally cut. There are distinct saw marks. A reward of £100 is offered for information. It is surmised that the cable was fouled in a ship's anchor, and the crew, finding that they were unable to free the anchor, severed the cable.
