THE HALF SHARE SCHEME
(Received 27th March, 2 p.m.) LONDON, 26th March. The "Daily Herald," referring to the operations of the rival syndicate, says that sensational deals on Thursday for half-shares in the Irish Sweepstake likely tickets resulted in leading London Turf commissioners acting on behalf of the syndicate paying out £.170,----000. Thus they bought half-shares in thirty tickets: They need fifteen more to make their scheme watertight.
