INCREASED TAXATION

SYDNEY, 25th Marc-h,

A sharp increase in death duties is provided in the Stamp Duties Amendment Bill introduced in the Assembly.

The new duties range from 2 per cent, on estates up to £1000 sterling, to- 25 per cent, on £,100,000 or over. The present rate on estates exceeding £100,000 is 15J per cent.
