POWER BOARD'S TOUR

Members of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board yesterday made a tour of the ; eastern portion of the board's district, inspecting board workß and property from Petone to Mungaroa. .Under the guidance of the engineer-general manager (Mr. E. F. Hollands), they visited the. sub-stations at the Gear Co., the Petone pumps, Wakefield street, Epuni, Taita, and Silverstream, and discussed property matters at other places. The opportunity was also taken to see the Public Works Department's sub-station now under construction at Melling. The trip occupied the whole of the day, and resulted in members gaining, first-hand information regarding the board's activities outside their own districts.

The party was entertained', at morning tea by^ Mr. and Mrs. S. rßlackley at their home in Heretaunga. Those who made the trip were Mr. E. "Wi'mlley (chairman), and Messrs. W. H. P. Barber, S. Blackley, A. Walker. W. H. Lawrence," L. Stewart, J. W. M'Ewan, and A. "W. Press.
