FINAL LOCAL MEETING,
It was on the track at the Kilbirnie h Stadium last season that L. Van Praag, jj the daring rider known as "The Lion of [J the Speedways," registered some of his finest performances. Since then he has |>
risen to far greater heights, and in Australia this season he won many important contests, creating a big sensation at Wentworth Oval when he reeled off four laps in the world's record time of 71 2-ssec. The only opportunity of seeing him riding in Wellington this season is at the final meeting, to be held on Saturday night. Van Praag has issued a challenge to W. Kilmister, and this will be decided on Saturday night, three special races, each of four laps, having been set apart for these two stars, the .contest to be decided ou the "best-two-out-of-three" system. Another important event for the final meeting will be a contest for the Golden Tfeimet, in which competition should be keen and exciting. There will also be a big handicap, the final of the xerir; to determine die holder of the, Clark and Morris Cup. The opportunity will be taken at the meeting to farewell Kilmister, who leaves for England early next month.
