LIBERALS AND LABOUR
(British Official Wireless.) (Received 26th March, Jll a.m.)' RUGBY, 25th March. At the close of last night's meeting of the Liberal Parliamentary Party, which lasted for nearly six hours, it was officially stated that .the party had agreed by 3o votes to 17 to support the declaration put forward by the party leader, Mr. Lloyd George. The precise terms of the declaration will be discussed by Mr. Lloyd George when he meets Liberal candidates tomorrow morning.. It is understood that the declaration makes the position clear that while the party is willing to give general support to the Government in its broad programme for dealing with urgent problems, there is no question of formal alliance or pact which would ensure that the Government would remain in office for a fixed term of years. In view of the decision of the meeting, Sir Archibald Sinclair acceded to the general request to reconsider his derision to resign the: office of Chief Whip, to which ho was re-elected.
