POPULATION OF NAPIER

HASTINGS, 25th March.
Although the registered population of Napier is 7365, it is considered by Mr. J. S. Barton, chairman of the Napier Commission, that the number is probably in the vicinity of 9000, due to the failure of people returning to register owing to ignorance of the requirements.
