TERMS TO BE OBSERVED

NAPIER, 24th March,

Mr. J. S. Barton, chairman of the Napier Commission, stated to-day that Iho time had arrived for putting things on a proper footing as regards the observance of awards in respect to overtime, wages, conditions, and holidays. The opening of shops on two nights weekly and tha failure to close for the weekly half-day must now stop; relations of contractors and men in respect to overtime must also be put on a reasonable footing.
