RUGBY REFEREES' COMPLAINTS ■
Reference was made by the chairman (Mr. J. Prendeville) at last evening's meeting of the Management Committee of ther Wellington Rugby Union to complaints voiced by speakers at the annual meeting of the Manawatu Rugby Referees' Association.
"Somebody 'got off his chest' some complaints about Wellington at the Manawatu meeting," .said Mr. Prendeville. "I think he was entirely wrong because if any union has encouraged the appointment of outside referees it is the Wellington Union."
Mr. J. Moffitt: 'I think he was aiming at the New Zealand Appointment Board."
Mr. Prendeville: "Well, it waa a peculiar way of making a statement. . . I think we should contradict *y such statement, because for all our principal matches last year we submitted wherever we could the names of country association referees."
