THE "OLD SCHOOL"

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—l notice that tenders are being called for the demolition of the wooden building, Wellington .College. To thousands of boarders this was once their temporary home for some of tho happiest years of their lives, and more than ordinary sentiment is cherished for the old school." The same feeling is shared by very many more day boys, some of whom, in years, would be now very old old boys. And memories of the old wooden. building are invariably linked with our wonderful headmaster, Mr. J. P. Firth. Before the demolition is commenced, would it be possible for tho Old Boys' Association, or the Board of Governors, to hold some small function where many longstanding friendships would ba renewed and.fittir.; tribute paid to our Alma Mater?—l an, etc., W.8.F., 1905-9.
