A FALLACY

(To the Editor.)

Sir,— May I congratulate you on your sub-leader of Thursday last, exposing the fallacy o£ the. contention that the Civil Service is being asked to provide one-third of the national deficiency. That such statements should be made and go unchallenged within our House of Parliament is a sad commentary on the capacity of our representatives. Now that je have some evidence of moral stamina, it is eincerely to be hoped that all such misrepresentation -will be exposed.— l am, etc., ,A SUBSCRIBER. Taupo, 20th March.
