NELSON, 23rd March.

Last Saturday's cricket, saw centur» ies scored by K. R. Neall (Old Boys)' a.nd X Langbeiu (Wakatu) and the' "hiit trick" done by It. Busch (Old Boys). Old Boys disposed of Old Boys colts for 5a runs in tho lirst in* uings, 3,1. Bryant scoring 33 of the total. It. Buseh finished up with the excellent average of seven wickets for 18 runs off ll overs. Old Boys passed (Jolts' score in tho h'rst ten overs. S. Newman scored 45 in quick time, and. K. R. Neall wont on steadily to compile 104, not out, his fortieth century. When stumps were drawn Old Boys had five wickets down for 196 runs. At College the College team could only get So in the first innings against Wakatu, G. Campbell scoring 29. 11. Langbein. took three wickets for I(l'runs, and D. Glover two for (i. Langbein thrashed the College bowling, and by the end. of tbe innings had 122, not out, to his credit. I). Glover scored 25 and A. Jones 2'!. D. Freeman took four wickets for US) and Ross four for -19. Nelson Defence Rifle.Club teams fired matches against Motueka mid AVaiinea last Saturday, the City Club winning both. At Brightwater Nelson and AVaimea each scored 28G points at 300 yards, but at 500 yards Nelson gained a lead of o". The three outstanding single rauge scores were made by AVaimon. men. At 300 yards Rifleman R. Hammond scored 33 and at 500 yards Rifleman G-. Jf. Robertson secured 34, while his brother, who had a place in the College Irvine Shield team last year, secured the possible, 35. Rifleman N. Manssen secured 34 at 000 yards, and Rifleman J. Vitetta, who put on 34 at COO yards, was tho top-scorer of the afternoon, with So. He was followed by Rifleman C. G. Everett who shot very, well indeed, considering that this is his' first season.

Seven crews took part in the Nelson Rowing Club competition for the VV. Rogers Cup, which was won by D. AFarsha.ll •(stroke), M. Winter, ' AT. Ricketts, D.-G. 'Russell, A. Marshall (cox.).
