FOR CONSERVATIVE PARTY
CHURCHILL CONDEMNED
(British Official Wireless.) (Received 23rd March, 11 a.m.) BUGBY, 21st March Mr. L. C. M. S. Amery, Secretary for Dominion Affairs in the late Conservative Government, at a Conservative meeting last night vigorously criticised Mr. Winston Churchill's recent speeches on India, denying his right to speak for, the Conservative Party. Mr. Amery said that the Conservative: Party was "just as determined as Mr. Churchill that any future constitution can. be. acceptable only if it secures justice tol. every section in India and safeguards the legitimate financial interests and safety of India and the Empire. But unless and until events, force H3 to the opposite conclusion we are prepared to believe these essential conditions are more likely to be secured hy -co-operation and frank discussion than by irresponsible denunciations" or speeches whose eloquence is only matched by their remoteness from reality." ,
