CANADA AND NEW ZEALAND
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—l have been asked by two or three members of the British Columbia Parliament, now in session here, to drop a note to your widely-known newspaper, in the hope that the suggestion, contained may come before as many members as possible of the New Zealand Parliament, which we understand meets this month. • The suggestion is this: that if New Zealand has a Trade Commissioner or agent in Canada, of which wo are .not aware, it might be well worth while for hjm to be in, Victoria, tho British Columbia capital, while Parliament is in session. There are lots of matters connected with our'trade with New Zealand continually arising during the parliamentary session in which a Trade Commissioner's help would be welcomed. 'We have never had such help in our B.C. Parliament, and it is surprising what an ever-increasing amount of interest our provincial members show in New Zealand trade. It would not be a bad idea for New Zealand to have a representative also in close attendance at the Dominion House sitting, and, in fact, at the sittings also of as many as possible of the provincial Parliaments. The members for whom T write also desire me to express to New Zealand members their sincere sympathy for New Zealand in her Had. earthquake troubles. —I am>Cto" . . : X.SCOTT. Victoria. 8.C., 3rd March.
