Kilbirnie made a good total against urn Boys in their first innings at the Julbinue Reserve last Saturday. . Ward and Crook put on 122 runs ma thud-wicket partnciship, and gave.tbe best showing of the day Bilby, the not-out man, made 44. Lambert produced some fine bowling, and took, seven wickets for 88 runs off 16 oVHepbm-n and Monkhouse opened for Kilbirnie, and off the second ball Hepburn was out lbw. -Ward joined Monkhouse, and runs came steadily until Monkhouse was caught in the slips for 10. .Crook went in nest, and scoring was rapid, 100 being reached in less than an hour. Crook sent a six to the deep field, bringing 140 up in 75 minutes. At 158 Crook was out Ibw after a brilliant 68, which included nine fours and one six. Ward was then caught at mid-on after scoring 80, which included ten fours. Turnbull and Christopherson were together in a slow-scoring partnership until the former was clean bowled. Bilby joined Christopherson, and the 200 was passed after two hours play. The Kilbirnie captain was well caught by Parsloe a few minutes later. The remaining wiokcts fell rapidly, except that of Bilby, who hit out well. Kilbirnie were all out for 272, with one hoar left for the Lambert and Ronaldson lost no time in scoring for Old Boys, but when the total was 19 Lambert was caught by Virtue at long-off. Lamason joined Ronaldson, and they had added 59 wlien Ronaldson was clean bowled. Parsloe was next man in. At stumps the side had scored 98. Details:— KILBIRNIE. . , - First Innings.
