The Hank or New Zealand Produce Department has received the following advice from its London, office as at close of business (his week: "There is a steady trade in .wether mutton at rather better values. Smaller supplies of ewes have caused prices to harden. The market is firmer for second quality lambs, iirst grade remain steady. There is a better inquiry and the outlook is brighter. The market is short of supplies of beef, and prices are nominal. Wethers: Light, Slid to 4',4d per lb; heavy, 3d to 3V*d. Ewes: 2^d to 3%d. Lambs: 2's, Gd to 6 5-Sd; S's, Cd to 6 5-Sd; 4's, 6d to 6 5-Sd; seconds, olid to 534 d. Ox hinds, 3'4d to 3%d; fores, 2Md to 2%d. Cow hinds, 3d to 31: id; fores, 2V4d to 214 d." Messrs. Dalgety and Company's report, London, 10th March, quotes: P.rime Canterbury lamb, 2S-361b, 6V4d; North Island, 28-361b, 5%d; Canterbury, 3G-421b, 6Vsd; North Island, 36421b, 5%d; Canterbury second quality, sVid; North Island second quality, od; Canterbury, 42-50fb, Cd. Southdown lamb selling at a premium of ViA. Market for New Zealand lamb firm; demand better owing to warm weather. Any change in price is in favour of sellers. Levin and Co., .'Ltd., have received the following cable from their Loudon agents, dated 20th March:—"As compared with last week's quotations, prices are unaltered. The" market is quiet but steady, with a limited demand."
