(Received 20th March, 1 p.m.) ! LONDON, 19th March. Air Commodore Kingsford Smith will be.the first recipient of the Segrave Memorial Trophy, which the sculptor Gilbert Bayes is designing. The award is for the most outstanding demonstration of the possibilities of land, air, or water transport, stimulating others to uphold British prestige^ by demonstrating how courage, initiative, skill, and the spirit of adventure can assist mechanical development. Smith receives it for his Atlantic record and Anglo-Australian flights.
