BYLAW CASES
Offenders against the bylaws were dealt with' at the Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon by Mr. T. B. M'Noil, S.M. For having a defective silencer on a motor-cycle Merlin R. Campbell was fined £3. Horace C. Harris was fined £2 for failing to observe a traffic signal. Dudley H. Finlay, Walter Bennett, and Patrick Maylin were each fined £2 for j passing stationary tramears. For not having a driver's licence William M'Artlrtir was fined £1. On a I charge of driving in a manner which might have been dangerous to the public he was convicted and ordered to pay j costs. ■ . i A fine of £1 was inflicted ou Tryou Organ for having a number-plate indistinguishable. Frederick W. Read was fined £2 for passing a motor vehicle on the wrong side. Pearson Wagg was fined £3 for a similar offence. The following were fined the amounts indicated for driving in a manner which, might have been dangerous to the pub- i lie:—Keith H. Chapman, £10 (conviction to be endorsed on licence); William A. Fraser. £5 (conviction to be endorsed on licence); William Blake, £3. Driving against an automatic signal cost Charles Davis £1.
