LODGE MEETINGS

Wellesley Juvenile Lodge, No 7 1.0.0. F., N.Z., held its bi-monthly meeting last Monday evening. Bro. K. P. Lee, Noble Grand, presided over a good attendance. Prior to commencing lodge business, members stood in silence in ■ respect to those who had perished in the recent earthquake disaster. One member ■was reported still on the sick list, and relative sick pay was passed. One candidate was initiated to membership. The syllabus for the ensuing year was adopted. After the close of lodge' business officers and members were given an entertainment by sisters of Rahiri Rebekah Lodge. The Waikanae branch of the Ancient Order of Foresters, Court Julius, No. 9866, held a most successful dance recently in aid of the Hawkes Bay Relief Fund. Although this dance was put on at very short notice, it received the whole-hearted support of Waikanae and the surrounding districts. Excellent music was supplied gratis by the Paraparaumu Orchestra. Guessing competitions and novelty .dances were held, the prizes being kindly donated by Mrs. C. M'Donald,' Miss E. Bulliman, Mr J Brown (Waikanae), and Mrs. Royal ■(Otaki). The Ladies' Guild kindly allowed the Church Hall to be used free of charge. The amount raised and forwarded to the Mayor's fund was £16 7s. Zealandia Lodge, No. 48, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., held its fortnightly meeting last week, Bro. C. C. Blakemore, N.G., presiding over a good attendance, visitors including Bro. 13, V. Rudkin, P.G., P.C.P., district secretary; Bro. F. J. Jones, P.D.D.G.M.; Bro. 0- Disney (Fcrndalo Lodge, No. 54, Sydney, N S.W.), and Bro. T. Blanchard (Pioneer Lodge No. 1, Dunedin). A motion of condolence with the relatives of the late Bro. R: C. G. :Wright was passed. Three members were reported on the sick list; and relative sick pay passed for payment. It was decided'to circularise members for donations to the Grand Lodge Earthquake Relief Fund. The syllabus for the year ending 31st March, 1932, was adopted.
