EAST HARBOUR EFFORTS
Members.of the East Harbour Relief Committee, comprising representatives from the East Harbour districts (Lowry Bay to Eastbourne), have been active during the past week, A total of A'SOO has been collected, and another £100 is in sight. The Day's Bay ladies have, practically completed their houso-to-house canvasß, and the Eastbonrno ladies expect to complete within a day or two. In addition to the collection of funds, a sewing committee, under Mrs. Raine, has been actively employed in maJung garments for refugees. The Mayoress of Eastbourne (Mrs. Jones) has been busily engaged in visiting numbers of refugees staying in the east harbour districts and seeing to their various wants. Good work lias been dono by tho DeputyMayor, Mr. S. F. Fisher, in the absence of tho Mayor, Mr. H. M. Jones, in Australia.
