FIRE ON MALOJA

LONDON, l-'tth February.
Just as Uivine service ended on Ist 'February aboard the llaloja, shortly iit'ter leaving Bombay for England, the fire alarm sounded. Many passengers, believing it to be merely a fire drill signal, resumed deck games, but when the steamer turned back to Bombay it was realised that the situation was possibly serious.
Tho crew extinguished the fire, which was seated in one of tho holds, after four hours' fighting, and the voyage was resumed. Marseilles was reached without further event.
