SUBURBS CLUB
The Suburbs Defence Rifle Club visited Trentham on Saturday afternoon for longrange shooting at 800 and 900 yards, ten shots at each range. The weather wns overcast, with a strong right wind blowing, light rain falling at intervals during the afternoon, and a light fog hovering about the butts, making the sighting very i bard. T. Gootlall, 45 at 800 and 46 at 900 yards, was the best score of the day, hd winniug the special trophy presented by Mr. F. F. Bishop. Next Saturday, the 21st inst., the club will lire a home and home match against Motueka Defence Riflo Club, ranges 300, 500, 600 yards, seven shots at each range, 12 men a side, 10 highest scores to count. This match will be fired in conjunction with the club's competition for a special trophy presented by Mr. A. G. Earle, Lower Hutt, the concluding match for this trophy will be fired on 28th February at ranges 800 and 900 yards. The following team has been selected to represent the club against Motueka next Saturday: President M'Lean, H. R. Hunt, H. T. Peat, T. Goodall,'A. Stewart. A. Harris, S. Neilson, W. Hutcheson, J.
