MR. SCULLIN'S THREAT

TIRED OF CRITICISM

HARASSED BY BRAWLING

SYDNEY, 25th January. The Federal political situation is far from reassuring. The- Prime Minister, Mr. J. H. Scullin, smarting under the incessant criticism of the Press, which describes him. as "weak and vacillating," also the never-ending party bickering and intrigue, has threatened to resign if it does not cease. He will, it is understood, take a firm stand at the party meeting opening to-morrow at Canberra. His view is that the tackling of the great problems that face the Government is impossible amid the din of political brawling.
