SOMEWHAT OVERDUE VICTORY
Full Feather won the ■•Summer Handicap with a characteristic final burst down the. outside of-,;tne fields and incidentally brought to a close a.Tong:"Sequence of inglorious performances. 'no wonder he was sorted out by "the public: to be the one most, likely, to- trouble Vtlie., topweight. He scored by a narrow margin, but the victory was very comfortably-obtained.

Llandudno, •Cuticle, Belle Star,- and Royal Parade were the first to show out, Mount Boa -being squeezed back .at the dispatch, and when the field''settled down Belle Star was in charge -from Cuticle, Llandudno, First Raid, r Love Song, and Vertigern,-Full. Feather,-being, a bad last. Belle Star was the first to ,turn, for home, closely pursued by- First.-Raid-,- Llandudno, Mount-Boa, Love, S'png,..and Hunting Cry, with Full Feather; - corning on the outside. Hunting. Cry. ran-through just past the false rail,-and-had charge.at the distance, -but Full Feather-and-Mount Boa challenged him determinedly, Full Feather gaining the' mastery some, chains from the post to win by half a length .from' Mount Boa, who got up-with a, final effort to beat Hunting Cry...by half a;head for second money. First Raid was fourth, and next were Love Song, Hawkshaw, Royal Parade, Belle Star, Yertigern-, .Xlandudno, and Cuticle. ' ' .'*'■"■■. -, ;
'• Hunting Cry was backed as .though' a certainty for the race, r . carrying well over twice the support; ac.coV.Hefcl' Full' Feather^ Love Song and Mount B6a were the next ■sought. : Hunting Cry made:a -bold bid for l ,the honours, but his, big ..weight told its tale at the finish, and he was unable to hold off his more.lightly-burdened ' rivals.
