MATCH AT AUCKLAND
TO-DAY'S PLAY

Though rain fell last night it'was still a batsmen's wicket when Mills and Postles resumed in the Plunket Shield match between Wellington and Auckland to-day. The pitch was wearing more, though the wicket was still guileless. A hot sun was shining through the clouds. The , attendance was sparse. Mills adopted an easy stylo, though Lowry had the slips packed. Using shffrt" strokes, Mills played the ball cleverly for singles, taking advantage of deep field, and running faster between wickets, A.stroke after the one which gave Mills his half century, the ball came off his bat and skittled the wickets. It was a chanceless innings. Postles succumbed to a rising ball off Crook in the slips, which was accepted. /tYeir followed, batting quietly. Vivian opened carefully until he played a pokey shot to the 'Wellington skipper, j Anthony and Allcott were dismissed for a combined total of five.' . . . , At 2.45 p.m; the score was 160 for seven wickets.
