WHALING COMPANY
A NEW VENTURE CAPITAL OF £225,000 (By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") DUNEDIN, This Day. News received by the English mail confirms the news in connection with the new whaling company that originated in Dunedin. Its title is the British Antarctic Whaling Company. The capital is £225,000, and a very strong board of directors has been secured in London. Provision is made in the articles of association for the appointment of local boards. . The company is to take over and acquire from John G. Neil all rights in a license to bo granteel by the New Zealand Government to operate two whaling vessels for a period of twentyone years from September 1931, in New T Zealand mandated waters, including the Ross Sea, wth the use of the Ballcny Islands as a base and the benefit of an agreement entered into with the Arm-strong-Whitworth Company for building a whaling vessel for £350.000, and five chasers for £105,000. Delivery of these six vessels is to be made within eleven months from the acceptance of the contract. The necessary financing of the company has been arranged.
