SFEEDWAY RACING

INTEKNATIONALS APPEAR TONIGHT. The improved weather lias made the prospects even brighter for contests of a high order at the Kilbirnie Stadium Speedway to-night, when tie British Test riders, Jim Kempstcr and Prank Bond, as well as the noted Australians, H. Buchanan and L. Hale, -will be making their first appearance. These noted visitors will form a formidable combination for the team racing, in which they will be opposed by Wellington's representatives. Team contests have become the greatest feature o£ speedway racing, and that which is taking place to-night should give an excellent idea of what this section of the sport is like on England's tracks. Two fine teams (sis a-side) will be in action, ■with the internationals (led by Kenipster, who captained England against Australia as the principals on one side, and Kilniister, Wilkinson, Tonks, and Harvie as the big four on the local side^. There will be nine races in the teams' contest. Other events should also provide much thrilling sport. All the leading riders will compete in the Christmas Handicap, and the best of the second division riders will be making bids for the Silver Gauntlet. Those present at tonight's meeting will include Miss Mercedes Gleitze, the famous swimmer, who wilj be introduced to those present.
