WELLINGTON V. OTAGO Both the Wellington and Otago teams for tho Plunket Shield cricket match, to bo played at the Basin Reserve, commencing on Christmas Day, include players who are well in the running for places in tho New Zealand team for England, and on that account alone there should bo performances of a high order in the match. Arrangements have been niado for play to commence at 2 p.m. on Christmas Day, and at 11 a.m. on the other three days, with the. usual adjournments for luncheon and tea. The selected Wellington players are) 1.0 attend practices at the Basin'Reserve on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons with view to final preparation for the match. Mr. W. S. Brice, thev Wellington selector, who is also a! member ol! the Now Zealand Selection Committee, will be in atendance at the special practice nets on Monday night.
