RESIDENTS IN NEWCASTLE STRONG ASSOCIATION FORMED

'NEWCASTLE, 18th December. A hundred and fifty New Zcalanders resident in. the- Newcastle area held their first reunion in the Oddfellows' Hall, Auckland street. The principal guests were Mr. L. J. Schmitt, New Zealand Trade Commissioner in Australia, and his wife. Mr. P. J. Hogan, an Aueklander, was elected president of a strong executive, and Mr. Schmitt announced the appointment of a New Zealand sub-agent at Newcastle to deal with the tourist business. He expressed' the hope that Mr. Forbes, when returning from the Imperial Conference, would be able to visit Newcastle and see the vast steel workshops and other big industries.
