HOMICIDES IN NEW YORK YET NOT ONE DEATH PENALTY
1 (Received 19th December, 11 a.m.) NEW YORK, 18th December. Three hundred and seventy persons have been slain in New York City since Ist January, and not a single criminal has paid the death penalty, This situation is unprecedented in the 41 years since the law prescribed electrocution, and illustrates how completely the law has broken down.
