Mrs. E. Scvier, Wellington, is a visitor to Auckland. Mrs. L. G. Wright, Auckland, is spending a holiday in Wellington. Mrs. E. Vernon is an Auckland visitor to Wellington. Captain and Mrs. Keith Stewart, who have been living at Heretaunga for some months, left to-day by the Marama for Sydney, en route to Colombo, where they will live in future. Mrs. Wilson, widow of Dr. Wilson, who perished in Scott's Antarctic Expedition in January, 1912, left England yesterday for a visit to New Zealand. Miss G. Trolove, "Tlie Shades," Marlborough, arrived in Wellington yesterday, and is the guest of Miss Helen Whyte, Talavera terrace. Mr. and Mrs. C. Chilrnan, Wellington, left last evening for Christehurch to spend Christmas with their daughter, Mrs. L. Tosswill. Mrs. Joseph Studhohne, who has been spending several weeks in the North Island, will return to Christchurch early next week to spend Christmas with Mrs.' John Studholme, Middleton Grange. Miss Loraine Orbcll, Dunedin, who has been the guest of Miss Jessie Elliott, Kent terrace, returned home this week. Mr. and Mrs. John O'Shea, Oriental Bay, will leave to-morrow to spend Christmas With their daughter, Mrs. Pat Holden, Gisborne. Mrs. J. E. Russell, Cliristchurch, will arrive in Wellington on Wednesday morning, to spend a holiday with her sister, Mrs. Ben Wilson, Lower Hutt. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Howie, Wellington, are visiting Christeliurch. Mrs. E. L. M. Kitto, Christchurch, who has been visiting England, returned to New Zealand by the Corinthic this week. | Mrs. W. H. Guinbletou and Miss : Skelagh Gumbleton, Cliristchurch, who I have been in England for two years, returned to New Zealand this week. Miss Muriel Wilton, Wellington, left last night for Cliristchurch to join the Humphrey Bishop Company. She will probably be away some weeks. Mrs. G. W. Massingham and Miss Stella Maissingham, Dunedin, have come to Wellington, and will reside here in future. Mrs. Luttrell loft Wellington on Wednesday night for Cliristchurch. Miss Jessie- Barkc arrived from Dunedin this morning, and will spend a fortnight in AVellington. A very successful party was held recently at the Adelphi Cabaret, tho guests of honour being Mr. and Mrs. Allen. There were about sixty present, and a delightful evening was spent in dancing. Mr. and Mrs. O. Behringer, France, avo the guests of Mrs. A. Kimbell, Lower Hutt. Dr. and Mrs. G. Anson and Mr. and Mrs. Clem Mason, Lower Hutt, arc spending a holiday at Mangahao. Mrs. Ned Pearce, who has been the guest of Mrs. G. Anson, Lower Hutt, has returned to Marton. Miss E. M. Tamblyn has been appointed by the Wellington Hospital Board to the position of district nurse, Petone. Nurse M. W. Moult and Nurse J. E. Martin, of the Wellington. Hospital staff, have been promoted to the-posi-tion of sister, and Nurse E. M. Owen has been allowed to take tho postgraduate course from March next. The Melbourne "Herald" describes as "an outstanding performer" at tho concert of the Albert Street Conservatorium students a former Wellington girl, Miss Valda Johns tone. "Her confident, clean, and virile playing in the Greig concerto delighted the audience, and she thoroughly deserved tho ovation accorded her. Miss Jolmstone is already a pianist of considerable attainment, and her career will be watched with interest." Miss Johnstone is tho daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnstone.
