C. S. Donald followed up his success with Writer and • Kempton in the Dominion Handicap by winning the Victoria Handicap very easily, with Sir Author. This brilliant pacer, who is troubled with unsoundness, is by Author Dillon from MilHe C, dam of Akron, the mile record holder. He has great speed, and when it is possible to, give .him sufficient work he, can go two miles well. His win was one of the easiest of the day. TVrackeen went a sound race just behind Sir Author, but she had no chance with the winner. Cyone was some distance behind the leaders all through, .but a fast-finishing run enabled her to get third money, though she had several opponents to pass in the straight.
