PETONE TECHNICAL SCHOOL
The principal of the Petone Technical Hffth School reports very satisfactory attendanccp. By' courtesy of Mr. Nash, JI.P , classes of boys and girls had during the month \isited the Houte of Representatueh. The school cricket team was taking part m the secondary schools' competition, and', had won its first match. Thanks were due to tlie Potono Cricket Club for the gift of valuable cricket ma"terial,' and to Mr. Smith,'of the recreation ground, for the gift of a cricket ball. The school was participating in the scheme for providing: a cricket coach for the Valley schools. It was suggested that the Petone Borough Council should be ai-ked to assist in providing tennis courts. A successful athletic meeting had been held. The girls' championship was won by B. Maiston and the.boys' by J. Kvans. Thanks were due to Mr. Smith, the recreation ground caretaker, for assistance at Ihe athletic meeting. Tho Plumbers' Apprenticeship Committee Had expressed satisfaction with the woik-done in the plumbing class. The exhibition of work done by the first-year pupils had received very complimentary notice.
