UNEMPLOYMENT ACT
400,000 REGISTRATIONS
Though all registrations under the Unemployment Act officially were required to be made by yesterday's date, there is no reason to suppose that the penalty prescribed for non-registration will be. applied to those who have not so far registered, but do so in the next few days. Registrations arc still being received by the Postal officials, and the procedure will be continued to enable those persons' to register who have not yet complied with tho requirements :of the Act. Substantial penalties are prescribed for failure to register, the amount being not more than £100. It is estimated that to date about 400,000 parsons have become registered. The total number of male persons over the age of twenty-years who will require to register is something like 450,000.
