|0N NEW PLYMOUTH TRACK
ORAPAI IN" EXCELLENT FORM
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. There has not been a great deal doing on the New Plymouth track since Waverley, but all the horses are in good condition and will be ready for Feilding. Lady Ques ran a good race at Waverley under conditions that did Hot suit her, and she is now putting a lot of dash into her track work. Her next appearance is to be in the Stakes at Feilding. Among the others, nothing is doing better than Orapai. He just played with the opposition at Waverley, and is improving every day. He is entered at Feilding and at Takapuna, but so far no definite plans have been made. Te Atiawa, in the same stable, is having an easy time for a month, when he willi be prepared for the Christmas and New Year Meetings. Melissa came through her racing well, and is looking a picture of health. It is unlikely that she will race before Christmas, when there- is every possibility of her competing over middle distances. K. Barlow is sending his two-year-olds. Sparkling Morn and Cornerman, along a bit now, and they are both thriving on their tasks. The former particularly is a classy looking youngster. Crennatown ran a clinking good race at Waverley, and with any luck would have won. However, he will do a lot better on the top of the ground, and a hack mile or nine furlongs should fall to him very soon now. Royal Finance is having an easy time, but she' is iv good racing condition, and three or four gallops will see her ready to do her best. So far, however, her owner has made no definite plans for hei nd she may not race again before Christ]...is. Mrs. W. Graham's two-year-olds, Gibraltar and Easter Time, are both doing |3 that is asked of them. It was intended to race the latter at Takapuna, but it is probable that plans will be changed. Lady Lulu, Valksn's sister, disappointed backers at Waverley, but the heavy going was not in her favour. She went very nicely over three furlongs on Thursday morning, and she should not be long in making amends. Omeo continues to improve, but his tasks are still of the useful variety. However, ha will strip a much better horse all round when he next sports silk. His owner is a man with plenty of patience and he will not be hurried.
