SNUB FROM MINISTER
LETTER OBJECTED TO
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, This Day. . In reply to a letter from tho Otago District Council and the Alliance of Labour protesting against the Minister's determination to select the workers' representative on the Unemployment Board, tho Minister of Labour (the Hon. S. G. Smith) wrote:— "In view of the tone of your letter and the unfair imputations it contains against the Government and myself, I do not propose to take any action other than to advise you that the communication reached me by mail, arriving on the Ist instant." .. Commenting on the reply, Mr. J. Robinson, secretary to the District Council, said that the .Government was staging a sham and doubtless the Minister folt peeved that his intention to have the party Whip represent the workers was clearly discerned. The Labour Party could not be blamed for doubting tho Minister's sincerity if he thought he should select his opponents 3 representatives. ;
