VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND

' The New Zealand Amateur. . Athletic Council at it's meeting had before it * recommendation .from, the Wellington Centre that the Australian representative should be asked to note Australian ■ cyclists showing form with a view to . .0119 being invited to New Zealand this season. It is not the centre's wish, however, tha{j the cyclist, if one is invited, should'compete at the same meetings, at which, the American athletes Simpson and Kiser will be appearing. A decision to this effect} was made at the centre_ meeting last evening, and the New Zealand Coimcil is to"b« advk-ed. ■ '

It was pointed out by tlie chairman (Mr. A. C. Kitto) that the cyclist would be a special attraction on his own, and the centres would have a chance o£ staging meetings in his honour and reaping some financial benefit. An Australian rider could be in New Zealand at the same time* as the Americans, but he did not think i(s desirable that he should tour with the visiting athletes. Mr. J. Goodall, chairman of the Cy* cling Sub-committee, said that-in a letteC to his brother in Petone an Australian' cyclist stated that possibly, in company; with three other riders, he would bg making a trip to New Zealand during tha coming season. There might be a. chance^ said Mr. Goodall, of the riders, competj ing in the' Dominion. At the presen* time further advice was being awaited.
