"Wellington music-lovers will be afforded an opportunity of heaving Stella Murray, liie New Zealand-born contralto, who wi'llgive one recital at the Town Hull on Thursday, 16th October. Since Miss Murray's, last visit here some years ago she has sung in all the principal cities of the United Kingdom, aud_ an annual recital, which she has given in London for several years, has come to be regarded as one of the major events of the London musical season. Miss Murray is only making a brief concert tour of her native land before departing again in December to fulfil her many engagements in England and on. the Continent. The programme for the forthcoming recital ■will include "Creation's Hymn" (Beethoven), ■ "Devotion," "Rest Thee, My Spirit" (Richard Strauss), "The Friend," "The Garden" (Hugo Wolf), "Waiting" (Alee M. Shaw), "Dreary Steppe" (Gretchnoff). The box plan opens on Friday, 10th October, at the Bristol. Special concessions for students in parties of twelve. ■
