'i'Jie first through train from Sydney arrived on Saturday. This- marks the completion of the first section, of the Commonwealth unification of gauges.
The duration of- the journey is reduced by, six hours, and a fine stretch of coastal and mountain scenery is opened to travellers. The border is crossed in a tunnel.
