DERAILMENT ON MAIN TRUNK
The southbound express, due at Thorndon at 12.38 p.m., was delayed about an -hour and a half to-day, by the derailment of a mixed train which blocked the line. The : mired jtrain- which left Taihape at 5 a.m..to-day for Marton was delayed 80 minutes owing to a wagon being derailed near Silverhope. The southward' express ' follows this train very closely, and*'had to wait while tho line was being cleared: The cause of the derailment has not at present been ascertained, but a full'inquiry is being made. *■ ' ' .
