CHRISTOHUBCH, This Day

In Ohristehurch last week a rumour was persistently circulated, that a fissure had been found in the rock foundation for the dam in the Waitaki River in connection with the . power scheme,' and;that tons of concrete had been. poured into it without finding bottom. The- engineer-in-charge, Mr. B. H. Paekwood, now repeats the assurance given some time ago that all is well with the construction work.
