LEFT IN MELBOURNE

AMOUNIS'S PROGRAMME IS STILL UNSETTLED

F. M'Grath, trainer of Amounis, returned to Sydney after his horse had been beaten m the •, Memsie Stakes at Caulfield. M'Grath said that he had left Amounis in Melbourne for the present. He was still undecided about the Magpie gelding's programme.

M'Grath does not agree with a suggestion that Amounis was beaten by indifferent riding in the Memsie Stakes. He believes that the horse, after his hard race with Phar Lap in the Warwick Stakes and the hurried trip to Melbourne, was not just himself. "Amounis was close enough to them at the turn to win," M'Grath added.
